Hello Everyone! How are you? This year, I am serving as Acting President for NJAADA. Our Division is in need of new officers, and I trust youll demonstrate your interest by considering and taking on a leadership role. I will be available to assist with any questions. See my contact information below.
Exciting Announcement: For the first time, NJAADA is co-sponsoring a Conference with NJ Association for Multicultural Counseling. You have probably received your brochures for the Conference which will take place on Friday, April 21, 2006 at Rider Universitys Student Center. Note: 6 CEUs will be offered. The theme is Culture and Counseling Through The Ages: Multiculturalism, Diversity & Development. Please plan to attend and support this new venture!! Ive enjoyed working with the Board members in NJAMC to bring about our joint Conference.
Sad news to report is that Dr. Marie Yevak, founder of NJAADA, passed away. She lived a long life and was dedicated to our Division, remaining current on Division happenings, and keeping in touch with me even just a few months before she died. I know shed be delighted that NJAADA is co-hosting a Conference this Spring. One of her last requests was that we keep AADA going. Im looking forward to the April 21st Conference with thoughts of Marie and her many years of service. She was a woman ahead of her time.
Reminder for the NJCA Annual Conference: Please also mark your calendars for the upcoming NJCA Annual Conference which will again be held at the Sheraton Hotel in Eatontown, NJ. The dates are April 30, May 1 and 2, 2006. The theme is Enhancing Professional Competence. See you there!
