What does NJCA stand for and what is its mission?

NJCA stands for New Jersey Counseling Association. Its mission is to promote counseling, including professional development, public awareness of counseling, as well as confidence and trust in the counseling profession

Any member can offer his/her expertise in the many projects conducted by NJCA. Examples include: designing flyers or banners, assisting at community fairs or zoom based event, and many more! Check out our volunteer form to learn more.

Membership FAQ’s

There are two basic membership options: Professional and Regular.

Professional membership: Professional members shall hold a Master’s Degree or higher in counseling or a closely related field from a college or university (Examples: Social Work or Psychology).

Regular membership: This option includes persons whose interests and activities are consistent with those of the Association, but who are not qualified for Professional membership

Professional membership is for those with counseling degrees or compatible degrees such as Psychology. Regular is for those professionals who do not qualify for professional membership.

The cost of joining a division is $10 in addition to the basic membership fee.

You will be reminded through an automated email yearly to renew your membership. If the membership is not renewed before the expiration date, you will lose membership privileges and have to reapply.
