Types of Membership
Professional Members
- Must hold a Master’s Degree or higher in counseling or a closely related field
- Must be from an accredited college or university
- Must present proof of academic credential upon request
Regular Members:
- Must include persons whose interests and activities are consistent with those of the Associations, but who are not qualified for Professional Membership.
New Professionals
- Must have graduated from a master’s or doctoral program in counseling or a closely related field within the past twelve months
- Must be from an accredited college or university
- Must present proof of academic credential upon request
Retired Membership
- May be granted to a Professional Member who has retired from the profession
Division Affiliation Membership
- Must be a member of NJCA
- With your NJCA membership, you will become a member of one division and must pay the associated division fees if joining another division.
Student Membership
- Must be enrolled at least half-time in a regionally accredited college or university, either a master's or doctoral program in counseling or closely related field.
