Complex Trauma - What is It?

What is complex trauma? Learn a new diagnosis in conceptualizing and diagnosing trauma reactions and personality disorders. This course looks at the application of the DSM-V and beyond when working with various patterns of intrapsychic functioning related to those who have experienced trauma. Case illustrations demonstrate the comparisons that distinguish complex trauma from other symptom patterns.

  1. Recognize the signs and symptoms of complex trauma;
  2. Identify the broad diagnostic categories in the DSM-V that are relevant to trauma;
  3. Contrast the signs and symptoms that can assist in differentiating between complex trauma and other diagnoses.
