Overview

Professor Kinsella has developed and implemented education programs focusing on several health issues, including Black infant mortality, HIV prevention and education, HIV perinatal transmission initiative, women and substance abuse, and reproductive health in female correctional settings.  She is the Director of Community Programs for the Partnership for Maternal & Child Health of Northern New Jersey (Irvington, NJ).


Agenda

The main discussion of this event will cover social determinants, racist practices/structures as well as racist biases impacting maternal and child care in NJ. Prof. Kinsella will also discuss counseling implications in order to effectively respond to the social determinants negatively impacting mothers and children. Questions and comments from the audience will be addressed by the end of the workshop. At that point, participants will  be reminded of the evaluation form and the process to submit it in order to receive CEUs for this educational session. and networking with speakers
